Thank you for taking an interest in all that Dads' Club contributes to HES.  Whether this is your first year as an HES parent or if you've had kids here for several years, it's never too late to take further advantage of these precious and fleeting years of our children's lives by volunteering with Dads' Club.  Our group of dads are always looking for new and fun ways to give back and make lasting memories both on and off HES campus.  Here you'll find a comprehensive and ever-evolving list of fun activities, restoration projects and volunteer-related tasks from which to choose.  If you find something of interest, don't hesitate to sign up and show up for anything that fits your schedule.

  • Cafeteria Gentlemen - We've begun to see a core group emerge who are giving their time each week at lunch duty.  If you're interested in helping, please use the signup genius found here.  While these are not hard and fast dates to serve, signing up for a published, available spot gives the faculty their needed advanced notice.  Should you only be available to work on a particular day (not listed), text/email me, and I will add to the signup genius for you to register.  As always, background check required for all on-campus volunteering during school hours.
  • High Five Fridays - As evidenced by some of our latest turnouts (25+!), we're keeping the tradition alive. Beginning with Spring Break (3/22), we will finish the year with High Fives each week! See the High5 schedule for our next outing.  Keep bringing your fun ideas and costumes to the morning drop off circles
  • PE Days with Dads' Club - Spring Semester events are in the works!
  • Poker Night -  John Paul Grafa was appointed as Committee Chair to plan and organize Dads' Club first poker night gathering.  Plan for mid-May over a weekend.  Final details to come.
  • Dads' Club Playground Cookout/Playdate -  Parr Park, April 15th, 12p-3p.   BYO grilling tools/foods, sharable sides/snacks, and students.  We have the pavillion reserved for this time period.
  • Gaga Ball Pit Restoration -  The two wooden octagons at the playground by the swing sets are used for a game called Gaga Ball. It's played by all grades during recess. The ground in those areas is sandy, uneven and full of stickers making it a less-than-desirable playing surface. So, Dads' Club is venturing to have these two spaces leveled, cleaned and turfed over to create a more solid foundation for the students' game. We recently gained ISD and school approval to "break ground" on this project.  Graciously, the turf is being donated, covering the primary expense of this endeavor.  We need several helpers with landscaping experience and/or a strong back (if you've used a shovel, you qualify, so no scapegoating) in the upcoming weeks to get the area leveled and ready for turfing.  Signup HERE if you are able to help! More work days will be added as the project progresses.
