Hello and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Heritage Elementary School. I’m Michael Wetson, PTA President, and Captain of #teamHES for the year! My husband Shawn and I are fathers of 4th grade twins Olivia and Sawyer. Our family loves being part of the HES community and the friends we have made through school, PTA, soccer, baseball, MP Cheer and all the rest. In what the kids consider my “free time,” I am co-owner of an ERP software consulting firm.
When I started my volunteer involvement 5 years ago, I quickly learned that the Heritage PTA is so much more than what I remember from “my mom’s PTA.” Our #teamHES theme is inspired by the amazing group of parents and teachers who contribute their time, talent and resources for the benefit of our students and school. We are past the ½ way point in our multi-year drive to add an outdoor learning center to our campus. Phase one construction will be complete by the time everyone returns to school (or slightly thereafter). We hope to finish the remaining fundraising this school year and to have the final construction wrapped up next summer!
We have volunteer opportunities throughout the year, with the option to be as involved as your schedule permits and as you desire. The first step is to update (or enter) your contact information and join PTA for the current year. Our goal is to have at least one PTA membership for each student enrolled at HES for a second consecutive year! Your membership, along with other donations, supports school enhancements, teacher mini-grants, student consumable supplies, staff appreciation events, student programs and clubs, class parties and much more.
Heritage Elementary PTA #teamHES communicates via our website, school-wide Facebook page, grade-level Facebook groups, Instagram, Twitter and the weekly HES News email from Principal Hemme. From Meet the Teacher Night in August to Spring Fling and Field Day in May (and everything in between), we are excited for another amazing year!
