Dear HES Families,

Welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Heritage Elementary School!  My name is Adrienne McLain and I will be your PTA President this year.  My husband Jordan and I have two daughters at HES.  Carly will be in 3rd grade and Abigail will be in 1st grade this year!

When we moved here the fall before our oldest daughter started Kindergarten, I was fortunate to be introduced to several HES families through the LIttle Eagles program.  I experienced first hand the friendly, welcoming and inclusive culture that I have come to know defines HES!

The last few years have made life very different, and often difficult, for all of us in unique ways.  Limits on school activities and events may have meant that some of you have yet to experience that welcoming feeling and authentic connection to others here.  One of my biggest goals is to fill those gaps and help connect you to others in meaningful ways.  My theme this year is “HES Connects Us.”  Whether you are a parent, teacher, student, or community member, Heritage Elementary School is what brings us all together.  It’s a truly special place and I’m so glad you’re here!

I want to encourage you all to become a member of the PTA!  Each $10 membership supports our goal of helping all students achieve their potential.  Parents, grandparents, neighbors, and even students can join!  Your membership, along with other donations, supports school enhancements, teacher mini-grants, student consumables, staff appreciation events, student programs and clubs, and much, much more!  Our membership goal this year is to have one PTA member for every student enrolled at HES!

One of the best ways to connect with the PTA is on our school-wide and grade-level Facebook pages, Instagram and Twitter.  Also, look for the weekly newsletter that features “Notes from the Mrs. Hemme”, our principal, followed by a complete update of PTA events and opportunities all in one place.  You won’t want to miss it!

Lastly, be on the lookout for much more information to come on our Outdoor Learning Center!  With your generous donations last Spring, we were able to hire a landscape architect to design a plan for the space adjacent to the existing garden.  This space will certainly be a unique place that lets students and teachers connect to each other.

It’s going to be an exciting year!  I can’t wait to meet each of you!!  HES Connects Us!!

With great care,

Adrienne McLain
