Happy Holidays!  I hope you and your family are making the most of the many magical opportunities our community has to offer during this season!

HES also holds several holiday traditions you won’t want to miss!  Holiday House will be open this week and students will have a chance to shop for their family members.  We’ll top off the week with Breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning!

Both of these events only happen because of the work and dedication of volunteers!  Many have already put in countless hours to plan these events, and we’d love to have you join us in volunteering on the event days to make the magic happen!  Look for sign-ups below.

Finally, mark your calendars for the class Winter Holiday Parties to be held on either Tuesday, December 20th or Wednesday, December 21st.  Check the schedule below for specific dates and times by grade level.  We hope to see you there to celebrate!

As our fall semester is nearing an end, we also want to thank our outstanding HES teachers, administrators and support staff for all the ways they care for, encourage and enrich the lives of our students every day.

Holiday House is one of HES’s favorite traditions, and an opportunity for students to shop for holiday gifts for their loved ones while at school.

Gifts will be available for purchase in the following categories: Mom/Grandma, Dad/Grandpa, Brother/Boy, Sister/Girl, Pets. Gifts will be priced at $1, $3, $5 or $7, and students will shop with Holiday House dollars.

Parents may purchase Holiday House dollars in the following ways:

• Purchase online with a credit card. Holiday House dollars purchased online will be provided to students on the day they shop. Deadline to purchase Holiday House Dollars online is Tuesday, December 6th at 5:00 p.m.

• Send cash or check (made out to HES PTA) with your student on the day he or she shops.

Shopping Dates:

Wednesday, 12/7: 1st Grade & 4th Grade

Thursday, 12/8: Kindergarten, 3rd Grade (except Ballweg) & 5th Grade

Friday, 12/9: 2nd Grade & 3rd-Ballweg, Make-up Day

Grab your camera because Santa Claus is coming to breakfast!

The annual HES PTA Breakfast with Santa is Saturday, December 10th from 9am to 11am in the HES cafeteria. This is a come and go event. 

Tickets are $5/person or $20/family. Each ticket includes 2 breakfast items (1 hot item and 1 pastry item) plus a drink. Purchase your tickets online by Friday, December 9th. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. 

Able to lend a hand? We would love for you to volunteer at Breakfast with Santaat the event or help with picking up food items prior to the event.

Classroom Winter Parties will be held the Tuesday and Wednesday before the Holiday break.  Visitors and volunteers should complete their GCISD background check now in order to be processed by party time.  

Winter Party Schedule:

Tuesday, December 20th

K:  8:30am - 9:15am

1st :  2pm - 2:45pm

2nd:  12:45pm - 1:30pm

4th:  2pm - 2:45pm

5th:  2pm - 2:45pm

Wednesday, December 21st

Pre-K:  11am - 11:45am

3rd: 11am - 11:45am

HES PTA Grade Level Coordinators and Homeroom Parents host 3 in-class parties: Winter Holiday, Valentine's Day and End of Year Celebration.

Class parties are 100% funded by parent contributions. A $15 contribution for each student is needed to fund snacks, decorations, and activity supplies for the three (3) parties!
